HALO laser treatment works by triggering a healing response in your skin. It’s called a “hybrid” fractional laser because the device contains two different laser wavelengths.

This dual-wavelength laser works on two levels: regenerating skin from deep below the surface (dermis) as well as renewal of layers closer to the surface (epidermis).

When you come to your appointment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your skin, with a numbing time of about an hour. This allows for you to avoid any discomfort, although it is normal to feel heat or a pinching sensation as the lasers do their job. The handheld device is rolled gently across the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area, it may take up to 30 minutes or longer to complete the session. Depending on the condition of your skin, your aesthetician will determine the number of treatments that are needed for you to achieve your desired result.

You can resume normal activities immediately, but you may want to take a day off from work and social activities. During this time your skin may look like it is sunburned and it will begin to peel after 24 hours. As it peels, dead and damaged skin cells go away, revealing glowing, fresh skin. You will notice initial results after 2-5 days, once swelling has gone down and your skin has healed. The results will continue to improve over time, with the best results typically visible after 2-3 weeks. The revitalization of your skin will be long-lasting, especially if you take the steps to protect it from sun damage, and maintain an effective skin care routine.

The pulses of light heat the layers beneath the surface of your skin, prompting a healing response that softens blemishes and pigmentation issues, bringing any damage to the surface of your skin only to flake off on their own.

The pulsed light can be used on many areas of the body, as long as the device can lie flat against the skin. The most frequently treated areas are the:

• Face
• Neck
• Chest
• Back of hands

Skin is smoother and brighter after the treatment. Pores will also look smaller and smoother, and blemishes and discoloration will fade.

Pulsed light is delivered to the skin with a handheld device. The heat emitted by the pulses of light prompts your skin cells to generate new collagen. Collagen is a protein that provides scaffold-like structure to your skin. Youthful skin looks smooth and plump in part because of collagen abundance. Our bodies produce less collagen as we age and the collagen that is produced is less firm than before. This natural loss of high-quality collagen is compounded by the damaging effects of the sun; namely ultraviolet rays inhibiting the production of new collagen.

BBL heats the upper layers of your skin, boosting production of collagen in the months following your treatment. This is what provides the skin-smoothing and blemish-reducing effects.

The length of the appointment depends on the treatment areas, but it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to complete the light therapy. After a BBL treatment, your skin may be red for a few hours. Most people are able to go back to work and resume other normal activities immediately. Our team will make sure that you have complete aftercare instructions to protect your results, which includes avoiding direct sun exposure.

To get the best possible results, more than one treatment may be needed. Once you aesthetician examines your skin and discusses your goals with you, they can determine how many treatments are needed.

Most clients require three to four sessions to see results, however, some see visible results in one session.

Typically there is no need for a topical anesthetic, however your aesthetician may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. You may feel a quick, warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the skin. Your procedure may take as little as a few minutes, all the way up to a half hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.

This is a non-invasive and gentle treatment with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to apply makeup, return to work and resume most of your activities immediately.

Many patients may need only one treatment. However patients may require two treatments spaced approximately one month apart to achieve the desired results.

The LimeLight IPL Facial is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. Light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to treatment.

When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. Anesthesia or pain medicine is typically not required.

Since the procedure stimulates a person’s own collagen production, how long the results last depends on the individual. While results appear over two to three months, results may improve over the following three to six moths, and can last up to a year or more.
